I've Said It Before

and I'll say it again:

Do NOT drive 10 mph slower than the speed limit when there's a cop car behind you. I guarantee you, the cop won't like you better because you're such a careful driver. Do the speed limit, or move the hell over.

Hahaha, happens to me all the time, and I don't have pretty lights on my car either.

I find driving with a police car behind me distracting so I often pull over and wave him/her past me. They always seem to want to travel faster than I do anyway. I do it to be thoughtful, and only when I can do it safely. Is there a downside to that from a policeman's perspective?

It's nice to hear that from your side. I often rant in my car that SEEING a police car does not mean slam on your brakes, ESPECIALLY if you were only at (or below) the speed limit to start with...

omg THANK YOU!

And another one...

When you're driving on the highway doing the speed limit, and a police officer has pulled over someone who was traveling in the opposite direction of you, you DO NOT need to slam your brakes on! Why, what is the officer going to do? See you across 6 lanes of traffic, abandon the current car he or she has pulled over, jump into his or her car and whip a u-turn, then come after you?!?

Slamming your brakes on in this manner is simply dangerous. No need for such insanity.
