Strunk White, Idiot Weatherman: Literally Literal

"We are all literally on the same page." (You and the rest of the congregation singing from church hymnals?)

"I opened the door, and it was literally like a blast furnace out there." (Really? 3,600 to 4200 degrees F?)

They have added an alternative definition of literally to the dictionary to account for the change in usage. From Merriam Websters

1: in a literal sense or manner : actually
2: in effect : virtually
