So sad.

And where is the respect? I'm 54 yo and recently got pulled over for doing 65 in a 45. I haven't been pulled over in 20 yrs. I was shaking from nerves.

My mind flashed back to all the videos I've seen on this blog where people shot cops during traffic stops. That made me even more nervous.

Anyway, the officer said I was going 65 and I said I'm sorry. He came back to the car with a ticket for 60mph as he said anything over that was a mandatory court appearance.

I said thank you and he said please slow down. I have.

Turns out a cop riding his bike to work on that road was hit and killed by a car some time earlier.

Btw, OC, when you did traffic stops, did you prefer the driver reach to the glove compartment for their license and reg before you got to the car or after? I did it before, but then was concerned the officer might've thought I was getting a weapon or hiding some drugs, so I then opened my window all the way and placed both hands awkwardly on the sill so he could see them as he approached. I realize that's overkill, but my heart was racing and I just wanted everything to go as well as possible. I think the videos here have made me paranoid.

the officer showed great restraint. You battle danger and stupidity and cruelty and boredom all day long - how you stay sane is beyond me!

I can't help but be amazed that she didn't have a few equipment violations as well.

I can't speak for OC, for myself (1 speeding stop and 2 checkpoints) I've gotten my documents out, making sure both hands stayed on the wheel when the officer got to my window. If I had to reach for anything else, I asked for permission to move my hands. For what it's worth.
