Driving Like A Raving Maniac

Sir, I don't care what you say. 65 miles an hour on the wrong side of the street in a residential area gets you a ticket. Even if you are late for work.

When I was visiting my parents in July, I woke up one morning to smoke in the air and my parents told me that a house on the corner was burning. I missed all the fun because I managed to sleep through the fire engines and police sirens but my mom had gone over to see what was going on. While she was standing and talking to a neighbor, a woman shot through the roadblock that had been created, barely missing fire engines and fire fighters as well as a couple police cars. An officer stopped her (obviously) and my mom could hear her mouthing off to the officer. Said officer then took his sweet time in running her plates and believe me, he cited her for everything he could legally. I'm guessing her speeding ticket (on a street that has a 25 mph speed limit when it isn't an emergency) was probably four figures when all was said and done!

I'm sorry that I missed this particular event because I totally would have been sitting there with popcorn and watching the police officer and the lady.
