The moment he smelled the weed, and saw the knife nice should have been over. I can't understand why he didn't pat him down better as soon as he had him out of the car. Aren't the weed in his pocket and knife his probable cause?
I have to agree. When I was wearing blue if I took someone out of the car they were handcuffed and searched. The whole time I did so I affirmed it was for their safety as much as mine.

Seriously. He had a knife at his feet. First thing I would have done is place him into restraints and then search him.
Someone radioed for medical control. Suspect dead?
